Images of Christmas Past #1

Well kids this is probably that time of year that you will really hate your Dad because there are so many pictures of Christmas Past that I could run these everyday so maybe I will!!!  Now if it makes you feel any better I have plenty of my childhood (including my brother and sisters) and a few of your mother that I will be posting also.  If that doesn't help I am sure once you get your present on Christmas morning all will be back to normal!

I am starting this season with our Christmas Tree Hunt since I am sure there are a lot of people that are putting their trees up today.  The year was 2001 and we went to Beach Mt, NC which is just outside of Boone, NC.  We went with the Robinson's along with both of their parents...Andy & Betty Bonetti and Joe & Anna Robinson.  All the kids were there except for Ryan because he had to work.

We drove up on Saturday and visited the sites along the way mostly in the Boone area.  Since we were staying at a ski resort we decided to head up the mountain late in the afternoon to get checked in.  You all know your ages in 2001 but let's just say you were teenagers and when we checked in we found out that there were a bunch of App State girls there because of an event they had going on.  I will leave it at that but believe me Mr. Robinson and I knew what you boys were thinking!

Where are those college girls!

The next day we headed to the tree farm and started the search for the greatest Christmas Tree in the history of our Hagadorn family and I think we succeeded!

Anna, Barbara and Joe

Dad is that the same sweater?

Keep looking boys that's not the one!

I think we found the tree!!

Mom says go for it!

Sean's guarding our tree

Send it through the wrapper

Jared's keeping guard now!

 The Robinson's have their tree!

OK now we have to load them up and head back down the mountain!

Well those of you that know me know that I am not a fan of decorations anymore...kids are gone and decorations should be gone!  Although I will say this was a fun weekend and I have great memories of going to Saratoga, NY as a kid and cutting our tree down with the Anderson's.  So if you haven't experienced this or haven't done it with your kids you should add it to your bucket list!

  1. That was off our bucket list years ago with many many memories of cutting our tree down with Roger, Gail, Michele, Kristie and Paul and sometimes Marilyn. Since the Andersons lived about an hour from us...many times I drove home, tree on top of the station wagon...and yes Henry..alcohol was involved !! So many fun times and fabulous memories. Love it and still love all the Christmas decorations. No BahHumbug here...well maybe Dad a little :-)

I remember this so fondly and it was the BEST tree I've ever had in MY LIFE!! It was 12' of Christmas magic! Merry Christmas and Let the Holidays Begin!!! YEA!!!!! Barbara
