Chicago-Willis Tower

Well kids this is Willis Tower!  Originally called Sears Tower until it was bought out and the name changed to Willis.  There is a site seeing deck on the 103rd floor that over looks the city and supposedly you can see 4 states from the Sky Deck...I will have to take their word for it since it was hard to tell the state lines.

Robin was a little nervous to step out in the box

After seeing Willis we headed to a local favorite restaurant in downtown Chicago.  If the menu is correct they have been in business since 1932.

We stayed at Robin's house on Monday night and Tuesday night.

Willis Tower is a Bucket List destination!

  1. You should be a tour guide. Now Gerry wants to go back and see Chicago again. Lots of interesting places to visit in the area. It's too bad it is such dangerous place and has a bad reputation for crime. Nice photos.

  2. Boston has always been our favorite "big" city vacation, but Chicago comes a close 2nd. We had such a great time and I was so proud of your father, kids, he went out on the Sky Deck without a whimper!! ...unlike his brother who refused.... Truly a wonderful time and fantastic company. Chris & Robin sure do know how to show a girl a good time and then put her up comfortably!

  3. I agree with Larry, Henry should be a tour guide. I didn't know the Sears Tower is now the Willis Tower. I don't think you'd get me out on that Sky Deck, however the views were great!

  4. Great pictures and Larry you should take Gerry again. As long as you stay in the "safe tourist zones" you will be fine. It was a very clean city and we enjoyed all the things you see on the blog. And, yes our wimpy FL son wouldn't go out on the ledge. I was a bit leery but I did it. Great time and I would recommend everyone going.

  5. Based on the menu prices, this is no place for old retired folk on a fixed income to eat. Obviously you have more money than we do if you ate there. By the way, did you just take a picture of the menu or can you actually afford those prices??

  6. Liz, I think those prices on the menu were from 1932 and were in cents, not dollars. What about it Henry?
