The next generation and the tradition continues!

Well kids as you know yesterday January 28, 2013 Ryan and Dee welcomed their baby to the world!  Henry Griffin Hagadorn was born at 9:45am at 6lbs 10oz and 191/2" long.  Both mom and baby are doing well and even Ryan survived the birth!  Your mother was a wreck because she didn't make it to the hospital on time but she sure tried.  I am sure there will be lots more pictures and stories each day but for now I will leave it at this.

As you know we can never remember if I am Henry the 8th or if Ryan is Henry the 8th but either way we all have different middle names so we truly are not the 8th...but it is fun to talk about it.  I really think it's me because everyone always sang that song to me when I was growing up...I am Henry the 8th I am...

Your mother and I even went one step further by calling Ryan by his middle name instead of Henry.  Well Ryan and Dee have kept up the new tradition and will call their son Griffin.  BTW in case some of you that read the blog didn't know Griffin is Dee's maiden name.

The picture below is when Ryan was born...4 Henry's were alive then as they are today...Henry D (your grandfather), Henry S (your great grandfather), Henry A (me) and Henry R (Ryan).

Congrats Ryan and Dee!  Enjoy everyday as you show and teach Griffin the world...there is no better feeling!  Oh yea and take plenty of pictures so you can embarrass him with a POD of your own in 25 years!!

  1. What a wonderful day, meeting Griffin and seeing Ryan and Dee so happy, healthy, calm and adoring of their son! Cynthia and I will spoil him rotten and shower him with kisses & hugs...I won't pinch his cheeks, tho! Henry, I already found the kink in your armor yesterday...you melted seeing him, so no WORLDS WORST GRANDPA title for you! May we remember this day when the not so fun parenting has to kick in! In the meantime, we can save that for far, far, far into the future!

  3. We got a up close look at the happy family last night on face time. Grif is so adorable. Can't wait to hold him on our next visit to Charlotte which will be awhile yet :-( In the meantime the grandparents Henry, Barb and Cynthia will have to keep him happy with hugs and kisses. So happy for everyone.
