For those of you that don't know the story, a trip was being planned to go to Shelly's wedding in Illinois and everyone was going but I hadn't committed one way or the other yet. When ever we go to Gerry's house she is always the perfect host serving us plenty of food, letting us watch what we want on TV, cleaning up after us and so on. Well this particular day she seemed to be overly anxious to fix me my cocktails so as she heard my ice hit the bottom of my glass up she went and before I knew I had another drink!
After a while I stumbled to bed and when I woke up some of the evening was a little foggy. While talking with Gerry in the kitchen that morning she came over and hugged me and thanked me for agreeing to go to Illinois...again things still being a little foggy...I said well I will have to see. At that point she pulled this piece of paper out of her pocket and start reading..."If big Larry is going to Illinois then so is Henry Hagadorn"...and I signed it! I must have had a look similar to Jared's when he saw the mummy...OH CRAP...but being a man of his word even if it was a drunk word I agreed to go. We had a great time and saw all the places that you and Larry grew up at along with visiting some relatives that are no longer with us.
These are pictures of Gerry's family at her Dad's house. The 6 of us are in the pictures along with Larry Jr., Gerry, Cassie, Great Grandpa Brabec, his friend Lorraine and Aunt Rose Marie (Erin's Mom)
Hope all is going well taking care of "Big Larry"!
Yes, I guess that was a once in a lifetime trip! Do you know how much of my CC I had to use to accomplish the task???? lol I know Dad was proud to have all of you there and Lorraine loved meeting everyone. Thanks again Henry. Great story you created.
