Vacation-Day 7 Part 1

Well kids today we got up early (4am) and headed to the Tucson Airport to fly to Vegas in hopes of winning $1,000,000.  Once again it was the cheapest flight so your mother made us go at that time vs. an 11am flight because it cost $20 more!

When we left Phoenix to go to Tucson your Grandparents
Hagadorn went to Vegas to visit the sites and see your grandmother's older sister Helen and her family.  They also went to the Hoover Dam and several other local attractions.

Our flight left at 6am and arrived at 6:15am because of the time change.  Your grandparents picked us up and we went back to the hotel for coffee/donuts and then off to see Vegas.

Mighty Mighty Early!

This was the hotel that we stayed at...Excalibur!

Excalibur Day Time

Excalibur Night Time

Let the gambling begin

Our first stop was the Pawn Shop that has a show on TV.  We had heard that there were long lines to get in but when we got there we just walked straight in.

The place is a lot smaller then you would think by watching the TV show but still a pretty cool thing to do and certainly should be on your Bucket List.  They had quite a few things to sell some cheap and some really expensive.  In the back of the store was all souvenir stuff.  The stars were not in that day and from talking to one of the guys I got the impression they are only there every couple weeks or so to film.

This is the entire shop

This uniform was $80,000 and the watch $75,000

This car was $100,000

We couldn't see the prices but these were Championship rings...NFL, NHL, NBA

From there it was off to Freemont St.  In case you don't know Freemont St. is where some of the first casino's were located.  Since then they put an open roof on it and at night they have a show but you will see that later today in "Part 2".

As you saw earlier there are plenty of people that dress up and you can have your picture taken with them as long as you tip.

This was a $1.00 giant slot machine.

Part 2 will be out at 7pm which is what time the first show at Freemont St started!

  1. My God, how did you get to the Tucson airport so early? Yes, Barbara should have been less worried about the $20 and saving a buck. She needs to be more like you in that regard. Work with her.
