Vacation in Gatlinburg

Well kids at the end of July in 2001 we decided to vacation in the mountains of Tennessee in a town called Gatlinburg.  Your mother found us a mountain cabin and it was literally on the side of the mountain!  It had a big front porch with an excellent view of all the sites.

Name of the house was Fiddlestix

Do you remember on the trip over there we decided to take the Blue Ridge Parkway and we wore out the brakes on the van (I'm sure they were almost gone and we just wore them the rest of the way out) so before we could do anything we had to get new brakes...4 hours and $500 later we were back on vacation!

Below are some pictures from the porch and the view that we had

I am not sure how you talked me into bringing Rita

Everyone loved getting in the hot tub which was located right next to the house.  The only thing we were nervous about was the bears since the guest book had several entries where guest claimed they saw bears while in the hot tub!

Well we did a bunch of things that week which you will see over the next few days!

  1. Nice place. You always seem to find such great spots. BUT, the bears would have really worried me :-) I take it you didn't see any while you were there

  2. Oh, yes, I remember fiddlesticks and the vacation well. We had so much fun! My first hot tub adventure...love at first dip! We couldn't have asked for better weather (most of the time) or better views!
