Weekend Chores & Visits

Well kids we planned on doing lots of chores on Saturday and relaxing on Sunday after many weeks of traveling, visiting and having fun.  As you know the rain has been none stop for many weeks so we were lucky just to get the yard cut and certainly not trimmed up like we like it.  Along with trimming the hedges, weeding and grass cutting we also lost a tree in the woods during one of the thunder storms in early July and we had two other dead ones that we wanted down so Sean said he would come over and cut them up for us so we added it to the list.

We started early and had to fight the rain a few times during the day but we accomplished everything except one spot which we finished on Sunday morning.  Now the place looks back to normal and the HOA should be ok with the flower gardens again.

While we got rained out a few times it would slow back down and we were able to finish almost everything...on the other hand Sean & Taylor who only live 5 miles from us got a ton more rain!  When Sean left and went home this is what he found...the creek he is standing in is the little one that runs through their backyard!  River was jumping in up stream and would float down then climb out and do it again...looked like too much fun so Sean joined him.

On Sunday Ryan, Dee & Griffin planned on stopping by in the afternoon, then Jared called and said that Hannah was in town and they wanted to stop by, then Sean, Taylor & Carlos called and said they wanted to go to the pool and play volleyball, then Jared called back and said that Lee & Amanda would be joining them.  While no one took pictures of the volleyball game Taylor did snap a few off of Ryan and Griffin in the pool.

I had decided that I had enough of the sun and heat on Saturday so I would stay back and watch the race along with keeping an eye on dinner which was your mothers famous chicken casserole.  The plan was to eat at 5pm so Hannah could get back on the road to Raleigh...at 7pm we sat down!

Shawn Harrell was on call this weekend so they had to stay close to home and couldn't make it.  We ended up having lots of fun and as always it was good to see everyone!

  4. Well, it looks like you will have a nice supply of firewood for the firepit. No excuses now for not having a fire going at least a couple times a week. That is, if it's all right with your HOA policeman. LOL

    Nice family pictures.

  5. Whew, Henry and I could really feel all the aches & pains Sat. night...I felt them again when I played volleyball on Sun. Must be why I played so lousy!
Sun was special as always with the kids & friends. Henry doesn't admit it, but except for the clean up he's almost as excited as I am to have everyone!
One admission....Henry flipped his lid when he saw how much....get this...Bottled Water was gone! I really had to giggle at that one! It only cost me $3.50 for the case, not $14 as the beer does...and he couldn't get over it! Too funny, it reminds me of Stephanie's "precious"!
