Well kids one of the things that Disney is known for is their parades. If I remember correctly there are 2 parades a day. These were always fun because they had lots of music and different things going on all the way through the parade. It used to be when an athlete won something big they would always say "I'm going to Disneyland". Well Nancy Kerrigan won an Olympic medal after a big thing happen with her and Tonya Harding and she went to Disney. Well she was riding the float with Mickey Mouse and somehow was recorded saying "this is really corny". As you can imagine that didn't go over real big but Nancy went on Saturday Night Live and addressed the comment. She said that the media had it all wrong and she didn't say that this was really corny what she actually said was this float makes me really horny! That kind of ended the Athlete's going to Disney thing. I attached the YouTube link in case you want to see her and Mickey.

Anyway the parade does give you a chance to catch your breath too and rest a while. The other big thing that they do is shoot off fire works over the castle at closing time.

You have to give Disney credit because they do a great job. The parks are always clean and the staff very friendly. Bucket List for sure.

ReplyDeleteMy cousin Jim Isaacs has worked for Disney in Orlando since the day they opened. He is in charge of the electronics and music things for the parades in the Hollywood Studios part of the park. As far as I know, he is still doing the same thing.
ReplyDeleteMany years ago he could get us free passes for family, but all that changed due to misuse of the benefit. No more free passes.
