Catherine Visit-Day 1

Well kids it has been at least 5 years maybe longer since Catherine visited here in Concord.  Not to say that we haven't seen her because she always invites us to Lake Gaston and as you know we love Lake Gaston!

This weekend has been on the calendar for a few months since Catherine works at a bank and Monday is a holiday (Veterans Day) she picked this one so she could stay till Monday morning.  Besides visiting she really wanted to see all of your houses so we set up a plan for a busy weekend and off we went.

Catherine arrived Saturday at 1:30pm and since Mom had to work a special event till 3pm I took her over to see Sean & Taylor's house where Jared and Hannah joined us shortly after.

From there we went back home and picked up your mother then off to see Jared & Hannah's new house which you saw yesterday.

They said they were tree huggers?

Jared loves to cook and especially cook on his smoker.  He was treating us to a Boston Butt that he put in the smoker that morning at 6:30am.  Hannah made a baked mac & cheese recipe from Paula Dean along with a stir fry of vegetables.

Let the wine drinking begin!

While all the food was very good the meat was outstanding!

As usual we had to have a group picture!

Things were pretty calm until Jared brought out the Fireball Whiskey shots!  Thankfully I was the DD so I didn't get talked into participating.  Mom & Catherine trying to keep up with the young folks couldn't wait to be cool!

Everyone wanted to play pool but that meant you had to get off the couch and move to the other side of the house and after the wine, the shots and dinner Sean & Jared ended up being the only ones to play!

Sean & Taylor rode with Jared to his house and we were dropping them off so I tried to gather everyone up since it would be about an hour drive.  Somehow another shot happened which made for some crazy conversations on the way home.  While your mother doesn't get this way often when she does it is always interesting what comes out of her mouth...of course Sean didn't help by egging her on.  The short story is each of you kids could have been models but we heard one by one how that was going to work!

Fun times, great food and great company but no more Fireball shots for your mother!!!

  1. Looks like fun. You people would have a hard time with NY Clarks as none of us really drink...lol BUT if you come visit maybe Grandpa will try to keep up!

  2. Barbara has always been a Fireball, even when she was a toddler. Not drinking, but a ball of fire running all over and talking to the neighbors early in the morning on the weekend.

  3. Sounds like a fun time Barbara?? Looks like you all enjoyed the fun at Jared's. Hard to believe Sean could egg Barbara on. I remember many laughs when Sean and Jared rode with us in the car. Do you remember guys?

  4. Obviously my limit is ONE Fireball shot!!! I won't forget that one quickly! Luckily, I wasn't reminded in the morning physically, just by Henry. The end of the evening was rather hazy for me..... Amazingly fun evening!
